My School Life

The mother will typically stay home with the children while the father will go to work. Children live with their parents until they're almost 30 in Italy.

Kids of all nationality and gender get to go to public school for free. All kids go to school from age 6 to age 16. In elementary school, you can choose to either go to school from 8AM-1PM but go to school on Saturday, or you can go to school from 8AM-4PM and not have to go saturday. In middle school, you are required to attend at least 30 hours of formal classes during the week and then you can choose to take elective type classes.

The school tends to focus more on obedience and memorization rather than creativity. Class size is about 21 students per class. The curriculum includes: religion, Italian, English, an alternate foreign language, history, geography, science, math, technology, information technology, art, music and physical education.
